After living with two wonderful furry friends for 23 years, it was just not going to be easy to not have a dog in the family. And the last 8 years we had with Toto were special. Dogs have empathy and Toto was great at being with Jeni when she was injured and not feeling well. Toto was a mixed breed, mostly Cairn terrier which was why she as named Toto after the Wizard of Oz dog. That is why in October 2023 we aquired a Cairn terrier puppy. Her name is Cari and she was 4 1/2 months old. Cari could never replace Toto, but she certainly filled a large empty space in our lives.
She is now a member of the family. She is already making life easier on us senior citizens.

So Christmas has come and gone and 2024 is upon us with Cari almost 7 months old. Someone said that having a puppy in your seventies keeps you young, I think it just helps keep you tired, but it is fun.
